The council works as a team, so no one member can individually take credit for the strides Kelso has made. But let's take a look back at some of the changes that have been made since David started on the council in 2005.
- The parking lot at TamO was a gravel mess, and is now beautifully paved.
- A new girls' softball field was constructed.
- The library moved from an outdated facility to a larger, more accessible location in the Three Rivers Mall.
- The skate park was constructed and has become one of the most actively used parks in town.
- Youth soccer fields were developed on city property near the river.
- A new senior center has been opened and is thriving.
- Two city managers have been hired.
- The city has significantly increased water system capacity with a new reservoir.
- Sales of extra real estate at the high point in the market brought needed funds to city coffers, to help pay off city hall debt and minimize service cuts during the recession.
- The former Safeway store turned from a messy thrift store to an attractive office headquarters.
- The interchange project at 432 has been undertaken and is largely complete.
- The West Main realignment project has been funded to the tune of nearly $7M, and the project is becoming a reality.
- The old Hilander building has been torn down to make way for a new development.
- The airport updated its master plan for the first time in decades, and is beginning a runway extension with grant funds.
